Sussex County Stoolball Association Knockout Competition (Ladies), 2016 season

2018 SCSA One Day Knock Out Competition to be held @ The Belmont Ground, Clayton on Sunday 8th July Starting at 10.30pm
 
As agreed at this years AGM we are going to trial a different format for this years KO Competition which was finalised at the SCSA committee meeting.
All matches will take place on the one day on two pitches in a straight knock out style. Games will be played with 8 over innings 8 players per team in a game and any player can bowl only two overs per innings. All clubs will be notified of the time they are scheduled to play their first game and the timetable of further games when they win.  Only 16 Clubs only will be invited to participate and the 11 clubs who participate in the 2017 County KO competition will be invited initially, then depending on how many further teams can participate to make up the full 16, these clubs will be draw from those who have identified that they would like to participate. The closing date for these clubs to apply will be May 18th.
The Draw will take place at the Preliminary Round of the Divisional Championships which will be held on May 27th @ Nutley and all clubs will be notified if they have been drawn to play asap and this will be followed by the full draw and the order of play with times
Please can you therefore contact your clubs and identify who would like to participate in this years trial County KO Competition and forward the names to the County Secretary - Sam and County Chairman -  Margaret by Friday 25thMay to facilitate the Draw.
The 2017 KO Clubs who will be given automatic access if they wish to participate in this years competition are : Central – Bolney & Horsted Keynes.  East - United Friends & Stone Cross. Mid - Barcombe, Chiddingly & Ringmer,  North - Fletching. West - Angmering, Winterfold & Loxwood.
We would both appreciate if you will also find out if these clubs are going to play and let us know.

The Knockout Cup, first played in 1971, was originally open to any team within the five Sussex County Stoolball Association divisions. Typically 20-25 teams would compete, and the number of teams determines the number of rounds played in each season.
