    Chris,

I am loving the detail in this report!
Do you plan to do this for each match? If so, can I ask that you either email me (or Trina) a copy, or let me know when you have posted it and I will include as much as I can in the reports that go in the Eastbourne Herald each week.

I didn't realise you were putting the results on here otherwise I could have used this earlier, but I have already commented on this game in my reports.

The Bourne Eagles who unfortunately had to cancel their first league game due to poor weather, eventually won their second game, after what turned out to be a testing but comfortable victory away from home to the Seasiders.

Gildredge Park was the venue where the Eagles kicked off their club's first ever game and kicked off the season with a win.
Both openers, Richard Winton and Hannah Collins provided valuable knocks of 31 and 25 respectively, whilst Robert Adams hit a steady 29 before being caught out.

Richard, ended up going for one slog too many and was eventually caught out whilst Hannah was bowled out.

Sarah Adams then came in for Hannah and hit a knock of 4, whilst Chris Marsden, had a poor innings and only managed the 2 runs.

Hannah Cottingham then came in for Sarah Adams and David Marsden replaced Chris as they attempted to finish big, however, it soon turned out to be a disappointing end to what promised to be a fruitful innings. Christian Chant tried to open up the shots, but with few balls remaining he was unable to make an impact.

With the Eagles making a score of 104, the Seasiders had been set a run rate of just over 8 an over. A run rate that could have easily been achieved, had it not been for the outstanding fielding of the team and the heroics of a certain team member. Step forward Mr Chant.

With the sun setting and the night drawing in, the Eagles made a quick break through in the field with the taking of their opener K.Smith. He was then replaced by his twin brother S.Smith, who had a knock of 12 before being run out.

With the rest of their team struggling to build a decent partnership, Chant, then took three outstanding catches. Catches that would be replayed for years to come had they been recorded, catches that anyone of us would have been proud to of claimed.

It was then the turn of Mr Ben Collins to show Christian that the talents of fine catching aren't just of his and showed his quality with cat like reflexes to grasp the ball before hitting the ground.

With the Seasiders needing 44 off of the last 3 overs, they started off in great fashion by hitting 14. However, as their urgency grew, so did their poor shot making and running between the posts which resulted in their two last men going cheaply for run outs.

So with 7 balls remaining and 20 runs in front, the Bourne Eagles had recorded their first win of the season, with all accolades going to Mr christian Chant. Not only for his 3 truly stunning catches, but also for his quality in the field.

With 2 weeks until the next match, The Bourne Eagles have time to reflect on a well deserved victory, but with plenty of work still to do, they will not be resting on their laurels.
