Funding approved for stoolball history project

Thursday 17 January 2013, 11.01pm

Anita Broad, our Education and Research Officer, will teach children about the heritage and history of stoolball later this year. Four East Sussex primary schools will form a small schools’ league, take part in research training, an art workshop based around the history of the game, and a music workshop exploring local folk music.

They will have oral history training and will interview local players, creating an archive of interviews which we can add to in the future. The final event will be a filmed tournament at the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum near Goodwood.

Anita won a Heritage Lottery Fund grant to fund the project.
