Cowfold Bulls charity tournament raises over £250

Sunday 14 August 2011, 8.00am

Having re-formed only two years ago, Cowfold Bulls bravely held the first mixed tournament at their ground by the side of the A272 on Sunday 24 July. Playing on three pitches, Cowfold attracted two teams for their junior event and eight teams for the main tournament, which was won by Lewes Arms who beat Seasiders from Eastbourne in the final.

A raffle with some enterprising prizes ranging from tea for two at the luxurious South Lodge Hotel to Smirnoff Vodka successfully raised over £250 for St Catherine’s Hospice and the Rocking Horse Appeal at The Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital, Brighton. It was another enjoyable and rewarding day for stoolball and a great boost for Paul Dittmer and the Cowfold Bulls team.
