  1. Level One coaching course at Alfold on 20 March: Attended by 13 delegates and the course tutor was Helen Murdock. In this course there was a stronger emphasis on assessment and assessing and from the feedback received at the end of the course; several members would have liked more information on batting techniques. Overall the comments were very favourable and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.

10. Any other business

  • Kent AGM – Richard Emsley and Edward Keates are the elected Stoolball England representatives for Kent.
  • Anita Broad and Stoolball Education Package: It was proposed that Anita becomes a Director of Education and Research. She is currently working in partnership with the East Sussex Records Office on a bid application to the Heritage Lottery Fund and she has many ideas on what the package could include, for instance, teachers’ courses, a celebration match at the Weald and Downland Museum and a schools league involving junior schools in the Uckfield area. Anita feels that the combination of creative arts, history and heritage with actual game play is a great cross curricular opportunity and Stoolball England are supporting her in every way they can. It was suggested by Rick Mason that David Block’s book on baseball contains a lot of information on stoolball and could be a useful tool for Anita.
  • Loan equipment: Wickets have been loaned to Fernhill School in Farnborough; Imberhorne School, East Grinstead and more recently to Warninglid Primary School.
