Sussex Life features stoolball

The June 2007 edition of ‘Sussex Life‘ magazine features stoolball as one of six summer sports it’s encouraging its readers to try. Independent photographer Kate Eastman came along to a stoolball match between the Lewes Arms and the Gardener’s Arms, which she found on this website, to take photos and learn about the game.

Stoolball on BBC Radio 2

National Stoolball Association (NSA) Chairman John Price will be talking about stoolball on Chris Evans’ drivetime show on Radio 2 this Friday at around 6.45pm. The show contacted John after one of its listeners mentioned stoolball. Don’t miss it.

The show’s sports presenter, Jonny Saunders, is familiar with stoolball having played it in Eastbourne and will also be talking with John and Chris. Jonny is a regular commentator on the BBC’s Test Match Special.

You’ll be able to catch John’s appearance up to a week after its broadcast using the BBC website’s ‘listen again’ feature.

Stoolball calendar for 2005

Steep Stoolball Club has produced a 2005 calendar to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Relief. It costs just £5, plus 60p for postage and packing.

The calendar is a part of the club’s fund-raising for its Cancer Tournament this year (5 September).
