UK sports to receive more funding

Sunday 30 August 2009

Many UK sports are suffering the effects of the credit crunch, with a recent survey revealing that up to 6,000 community sports clubs could close during the recession due to failing revenues. But help is now on its way from a brand new TV game, launching this autumn, which will bring much needed funding to sports clubs across the UK.

BingoLotto is a live TV game that will air weekly on Virgin 1 from 13 September 2009. Participants will be able to buy a game card for £2 from any Tesco till point in Britain allowing them to play alongside the TV game that offers multiple chances to play and win throughout the hour long TV game.

BingoLotto

Sunday 13 April 2008

The National Stoolball Association, along with over 150 other national governing bodies, has signed up to be part of BingoLotto: a money-raising scheme supported by the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR) to help raise funds for grass-roots sport.

BingoLotto is the brainchild of Gert Eklund and his company ISG (Intelligent Gaming Solutions) which was started more than 15 years ago in Sweden. Although they too have a National Lottery as a competitor, it has flourished and achieved a great deal for charities in that country (nearly £1bn since 1991).

Community Amateur Sports Club applications – URGENT

Saturday 3 April 2004

We are getting feedback from the Inland Revenue that some applications for registration as Community Amateur Sports Clubs are being rejected, because they are using out-dated and inaccurate material about club constitutions. Please distribute this message to all your clubs, as soon as possible.

We recommend that all applications being developed now should use the model club constitution and advice provided on the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR) website, and discard previous guidance materials which may have been issued by other organisations in the past.

Clubs can benefit from registration through tax relief and rate relief, so making sure that applications are successful can be very important – and save clubs thousands of pounds.

For further details please call 020 7854 8500 or visit www.ccpr.org.uk
