Red Triangle 50th anniversary tournament

The Red Triangle Stoolball League held its 50th anniversary tournament on Sunday 19 June, with teams from the Red Triangle League, the Hailsham League and the West Kent League.

Match 1 saw Red Triangle beat West Kent, in match 2 Hailsham beat Red Triangle and in the final game Hailsham beat West Kent making Hailsham the tournament winners.

The Eastbourne Red Triangle League was formed in the mid-1950s by the late Ron Edwards, and it flourishes still with six divisions.

Sponsorship wanted for Eastbourne league

The Red Triangle Stoolball League, initiated by the YMCA in 1955, is looking for a sponsor for the next two years to help celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2005.

Stoolball continues to be a very popular sport throughout this part of the country and the Red Triangle League has over 1000 players playing in six divisions throughout Eastbourne and District.

The sponsor’s name will appear on all scorecards, associated publicity and be mentioned in the regular reports in the local paper. Please contact Eastbourne and District Chamber of Commerce at the Chamber Office.
