Steep (Ladies')

Part of Steep Stoolball Club.

The team was started in 1971 by Shirley Reed who had recently moved from mid Sussex. She is still playing! The original players were cricketers' wives but now come from many sources.

Having started in an area where stoolball was little known, we are still frequently introducing the game to people who have never played before. We have an active junior section.

This team's colours are: navy blue sweaters or tracksuits, and pink shirts.

When and where

This team plays at Steep Cricket Ground, Petersfield.

Fixtures are with local clubs on Monday and Wednesday evenings (11 a side) and we participate in tournaments (8 a side) on Sundays throughout the summer months. Monday night is also practice night, when there isn't a match. We join the Midhurst Indoor League during the winter which is on Sunday evenings.

We hold our own senior tournament on the first Sunday in October (the last outdoor fixture of the season) and a junior tournament early in September.
