Mini-stoolball
Mini-stoolball introduces children to stoolball. Children have difficulty using full-size equipment. Mini-stoolball is for children up 15 years old.
The differences are in the size of the wickets and the wicket markings. All other equipment and rules are the same as the main game.
- Wickets are 4 feet high instead of 4 feet 8 inches.
- The bowling crease is 20 feet from the wickets instead of 10 yards.
- The distance between wickets is 32 feet instead of 16 yards.
- The boundary is 30 yards instead of 45 yards from the centre of the wickets.
Bats of a lighter weight should be chosen for children so that they can swing the bat easily and quickly.
Try using a softer ball, perhaps a tennis ball or an Incrediball, instead of a proper stoolball when playing Mini-stoolball with younger children.
