Midhurst v Steep

Although Midhurst, batting first in this 12 over friendly, scored at a frenetic rate they also lost wickets regularly. Sue Rutter made 17 and Hayley Woodward 33 before there was a flurry of wickets. Liz Parr (14) and Sam Hurst (11*) added for a final wicket partnership of 26 to give a total of 105.

Although Steep lost an early wicket, Joy Barnes hit a very well constructed 46, taking on the responsibility of guiding a young and sometimes inexperienced Steep batting line up. She was well supported by Lauren Preston (24) and subsequently Debbie Geer (15) and Cathy Knight (14*). Steep won the contest in the 11th over and continued to finish on 120.
