Lewes league tournament

Tournament in the Lewes stoolball league, Summer 2008 season.

When: 5.30pm, Thursday 21 August 2008 sunset 8.07pm

Notes

Everyone who wants to play puts their name into a hat and then the names are drawn at random, with each of the captains leading the teams. This means everyone can play without worrying about fielding a full team and also people who were playing for teams that have pulled out of the league can also play plus any extra family or friends can come along too. It also means that one team won't dominate the evening as all the players will be mixed up.

The format of the evening will be as follows, but possibly subject to amendment depending on the number of players:

4 teams on each pitch, each play each other with the top 2 teams going into the semi final.
2 (possibly 3) overs overs each way
Shorter boundaries, but 6 is out
Retire after 15 runs (or 20 if playing more overs) with a different opener each time - this gives everyone a chance to bat
Different bowlers for each over in each game
Semi final and final

There will be a £1 charge for each person to enter to cover the cost of the pitch. Each team should bring a raffle prize. Any proceeds from the night will be used for new equipment like bats, balls or flags.
